ペリカン at 和歌山城・動物園　A pelican at Wakayam Castle zoo

この写真は和歌山城・動物園のぺリカンですが、何をしているところか分かりますか？耳元が痒いので、足で掻いているところです。ペリカンの万能のくちばしも耳元には役に立たない様です。

The creature in this picture is a pelican at Wakayama Castle zoo. But do you know what he is doing?  Actually he is scratching the itchy part around his ear with his toes.  His versatile beaks seem to be useless in this case.
