フラミンゴ at 和歌山城・動物園　Flamingoes at Wakayama Castle zoo

フラミンゴは一本足で立つことで良く知られています。しかし、ある日、和歌山城・動物園の水禽園を歩いていると、フラミンゴが頭を水の中に突っ込んでいるのを見ました。それ程長くではなかったですが数秒間、何回も突っ込んでいました。何のために突っ込んでいるのでしょうね？

Flamingoes are well known that they stand with one foot for a long time. One day, when I was walking around the birds section of the Wakayama Castle zoo, I came across a scene in which  a flamingo was putting its head into the water. It was not a long time, but for some seconds but he was immersing his head many times. I wondered what he was doing that for.
