ペンギン at 和歌山城・動物園　Penguins at Wakayama Castle zoo

ペンギンというと南極の様な寒い所に住んでいると思います。そこでペンギンを飼育している担当者に質問してみました。すると和歌山城・動物園に住んでいるペンギンは南米産で、日本の気候には問題なく対応できるとのことでした。

When we think about penguins, we tend to think that they live in places which are very cold like Antarktic. So I asked a young lady who was taking care of them. She said that “the penguins in the zoo are from South America. Therefore they can live in warm places like Japan, without any problems.”
