巨大楠木 at 和歌山城 A giant campher tree at Wakayama Castle

この楠木は樹齢４５０年以上と言われ、空襲で一部が焼けましたが、奇跡的に生き延び、市民の間では、この楠木の麓を「パワースポット」と呼ばれています。

This is the tallest and oldest campher tree in Wakayama Castle park and it is said to be over 450 years old. Towards the end of World War Two, part of it burned due to the air bombing. But it survived miracurously. Therefore the place at the base of this tree has been  called “Power Spot” among the people of Wakayama city.
